ABOUT THE N.C. CHILDREN'S PROMISE Our Staff

In early 2002, North Carolina Children’s Hospital and Curtis Media Group formed a partnership to raise funds for the hospital through a campaign called “The N.C. Children’s Promise.” The first N.C. Children’s Promise event later that year -– a radiothon featuring several Curtis Media Group stations broadcasting live from the hospital lobby -- raised nearly $200,000.

Since that initial success, the N.C. Children’s Promise has grown into a year-round fundraising campaign that includes numerous events, projects, and partnerships throughout the community. Its mission is to secure financial and community resources to provide comprehensive, family-centered health care for the children of North Carolina and surrounding states. Unrestricted, private support of the N.C. Children’s Promise helps the hospital:

  • Provide advanced comprehensive care to children from all 100 counties in North Carolina, regardless of their families' abilities to pay;
  • Maintain a family-focused, child-friendly environment, while providing state-of-the-art care for children with complex and life-threatening health problems; and
  • Continue cutting-edge research that assures new discoveries for treating childhood diseases.

The N.C. Children's Promise, benefiting North Carolina Children's Hospital, is a program of the Medical Foundation of NC, Inc., the charitable, tax-exempt organization supporting the overall goals of UNC Health Care and the UNC School of Medicine. All annual gifts in support of North Carolina Children's Hospital are part of the N.C. Children's Promise. Supporters include patient families, faculty and staff, community friends, corporations, foundations, and civic/student groups.

MISSION STATEMENT
